Saturday, July 27 Artisans are invited to paint, draw or sketch their favorite Spenard Farmers Market vendor displays Plein Air style! En plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air” and is used to describing painting outdoors and what better inspiration than the vivid and abundant colors of all the produce that is now piled high on vendor tables. Artists are encouraged to bring their own easel and supplies while the Market supplies the inspiration!
Inspiration from a full Market of vendors like Fresh International Gardens with Kale, mustard greens, chives, cilantro, Chugach Farm will have Celery, parsley, arugula, chard, kale, collards, garlic, vinegars, kombucha, and pesto. Vitali & Monica Seldovitsch Family Farm: carrots, beets, turnips, garlic, eggs, cabbage, lettuce, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes. Glacier Valley Farm: Strawberries, cauliflower, celery, beets & turnips. Wildrose Alaska Natural Harvests: honey soap, rose petal jelly, honey jelly, Alaska Gourmet: fresh crab, Brown Dog Farm: spring mix, arugula, kale lettuce, Ba-Lescas Brothers: garlic, white radishes, Dinkel's Veggies: tomatoes, green beans, broccoli, Susan's Berry Patch: strawberries and Farm Dreams: fresh cut flowers, and herbs -just to name a few!
