AlaskaBotanical Garden’s Executive Director, Julianne McGuinness and ABG volunteers will be at the Spenard Farmers Market on Saturday, July 13 from 9-2 to share information on their upcoming Secret Garden Series “Homegrown,” offer gardening advice and current research findings, and answer your Alaska gardening questions. Spenard Farmers Market is happy to announce that two, very popular vendors will also make their appearance on Saturday for Alaska Botanical Gardens and Gardening Day, both P&M Gardens with their prolific flower baskets and perennials that will compliment special guest garden artist Cindy Shake with her original metal Garden Art!
The Alaska Botanical Garden is where northern horticulture and native plants are showcased throughout a 110-acre spruce and birch woodland in Anchorage, Alaska. With over 1,100 species of hardy perennials, and 150 native plant species, the Alaska Botanical Garden is the place to experience the abundance of the summer sub-arctic growing season and to learn about flora native to Southcentral Alaska. The Alaska Botanical Garden is a public garden dedicated enhancing the beauty and value of plant material through education, preservation, recreation, and research.
