Your purchases at the Market support sustainable local economies

Thank you for your continued support of the SFM. When you shop with our local farmers and growers you are helping to sustain the Spenard Farmers Market’s vision of increased access to fresh local food and other products. Your purchases generate a more reliable income for small farmers and other local producers and supports sustainable local economies.

It’s

Music on Saturday will be performed by the talented
Terrance Kelly http://www.reverbnation.com/terrykelly. The SFM would like to thank our volunteer intern Cathy Bodell. Cathy is at the information booth helping to answer questions and she also directs customers to vendor booths. If you get a chance be sure and say hello and THANK her for her efforts. We’d also like to take a moment and recognize two other important people at the Market –Jenn Adleman and Kate Huber who work at the new SFM QUEST Food Assistance booth. This week’s Market Manager is another tireless volunteer, Kim Wetzel who is also on our board of directors and serves as the Food Assistance Chairperson.
Fresh International Gardens, a program in Mountain View that helps newly arrived refugees, will be back with generous portions from their cooperative gardens. Customers who purchase kale will receive a free ‘kale information and nutrition’ handout. With additional help for picking this week the group will have more jumbo radishes and Kale -one of Nature's most nutritious vegetables. Piled high on their Market table will also be Hmong/Asian Mustard Greens and a variety of fresh herbs including Sage, Dill, Oregano and Italian Parsley
