Pets Under the Windmill - August 28th

While celebrating the Eat Local Challenge 2010, the SFM is also sponsoring “Pets Under The Windmill” Saturday, August 28th. We have several pet adoption groups invited to attend the north end of the Market including Adopt A Dog Alaska (which adopted out 3(!) dogs to responsible and loving homes last week), Clear Creek Cat Rescue and the Anchorage Animal Care and Control Center. Volunteers will also be handing out FREE samples of Yummy Chummies dog treats manufactured locally from wild Alaska Salmon by Arctic Paws. Market goers can also enter a drawing to win a gift basket from Arctic Paws. With incredible crops being harvested this week, plan on being at the Market this Saturday to support Eating Local, grab some lunch and hear great tunes by Matthew Pustina of Hot Dish. Or maybe leave your mark in Spenard and do a little sidewalk chalk art!
