More at the August 7th Market
Glacier Valley Farm will have lettuce, radishes, kale, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes and whole wheat cinnamon rolls from French Oven Bakery. Glacier Seafood will be bringing us more fresh spot shrimp from Prince William Sound and Northern Lights Oyster company from Homer will have fresh oysters, halibut, black cod and smoked black cod from Kachemak Bay. Spring Creek Farm is picking beets, carrots, mesclun, herbs, kale, chard, squash, broccoli and scallions. Keeping gardens well fertilized is Rabbit Ridge Designs with their popular bags of Aplaca Gold natural fertilizer. Along with Cindy Shake's Garden Art, she'll have a new batch of sweet Alaska Wildflower Honey direct from the hillside hives of Doug Groeneweg and Kahiltna Birchworks syrups, mustard and jams. P & M Gardens will have a truckload of incredible perennials, annuals, English cucumbers, zucchini, assorted peppers and sourdough starter mix. The ever-creative Brooke Heppinstal of WoolWood Studio & Gardens specializes in Alaska Grown hardy and unusual perennials for zones 2-4 and artistic creations crafted from twigs. Ask her about her free recipe cards using herbs featured at her booth. Brooke is the one wearing the “Garden Tart” t-shirt!
